Biography :

DANIELA PUCCI & LUIS BIANCHI (Tango Dancers) have focused on tango as a social dance, performing and teaching extensively in many U.S. cities, as well as in Canada, France and Poland, including major tango festivals Portland Tangofest, Valentango (Portland), NYC Tango Marathon, Tango de los Muertos (Boston), Chicago Tango Week, Tango Rendez-Vous (Montreal), PrincetonTangofest, Festival Nouvel An (Bretagne, France), DC Tango Exchange (Washington D.C.), Stone Soup Festival (Kansas City), and Stardust Productions (Catskills, NY). Daniela and Luis are co-founders of NYC-based "The Tango Zone Dance Company," which combines tango and theater in multimedia shows. DANIELA was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where her artistic career started playing classical piano for over twenty years. A former MIT engineering professor, she quit an academic career punctuated by awards to fully devote herself to professional dance. As a classical pianist she produced two solo recitals, Piano in 2001 and the autobiographical Voltando as Raizes (Returning to the Roots): A Life's Soundtrack in Three Acts in 2003, both in Palo Alto, California. She danced in the play "Hablo, Diablo" at Makor Theatre in NYC, in 2004.
