The English translation is by GWYNNE EDWARDS. Produced, Designed and Directed by ANGEL GIL ORRIOS.
A HAUNTING EXPERIENCE
FOR ALL THE SENSES!
DON'T MISS IT!
one of the most important contemporary playwrights of Spain.
Produced, designed and directed by
the prestigious Spanish director
ANGEL GIL ORRIOS.
SOLEDAD LOPEZ as GALA,
WILLIAM SAQUICELA as DALI,
FRANCISCO FUERTES as BUÑUEL,
RICARDO HINOA as "Jesus Christ Superstar".
CASI UNA DIOSA/ ALMOST A GODDESS
is a dreamy trip through the artist’s
most important themes and images
emerging from his unique pictorial language:
TIME [soft clocks],
MONEY [“Avida Dollars”],
LOVE [“Un Chien Andalou”]
and SEX [conflict between hard and soft]
frame the surrealistic world of DALI and GALA
set on a peculiar stage melted by
the BLUE of the Mediterranean Sea and sky,
and the GOLD of sun and sand.
For both DALI and GALA:
TIME is MONEY,
but SEX is not necessarily LOVE.
The play focuses on the very creative
[and productive] paranoiac relationship
between the painter and his muse,
their turbulent love-hate marital relationship,
and their complex friendship and/or sexual encounters
with the French poet PAUL ELUARD,
the Spanish filmmaker LUIS BUÑUEL,
and the Broadway star of “JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR”.
